I was glad to hear from a friend that I should pen a few reflections on managing your emotions, not that I am an expert in the art, but a toddler learning to walk no matter how many times I fall, fall miserably. But I do pause every time and plan to manage the same next time better. One cannot deny all of us go through different kinds of emotions in life with their impact on our wellness, work, and relationships. It need not always be that emotions should hold our reins! We too can succeed in managing them, maneuvering them, and steering them to our advantage. We have Jesus the Son of Man who was like us in all things ( feelings) but sin! He has shown the way. I have selected a few of the very common emotions, though neutral in themselves, are sometimes perceived to be good or bad.
Man is also a bundle of emotions! True, He/ she is a thinking, feeling, and willing person. The Bible demands “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind” (Mt.22:37). Often people fail to recognize the role their emotions play in their day-to-day relationships or in whatever they do. They allow their emotions to hold sway and lead them instead of managing them positively and purposefully. We will reflect on how to manage our emotions, particularly at the workplace. Emotions are neutral by themselves and they may result in positive or negative outcomes to self and others depending on how one manages one’s emotions. People may not remember what we said or did but remember how we made them feel. Beware (be aware) of your emotions when you are at work lest they cause unwanted consequences.
Find here some reflections which may sound spiritual, theological, or psychological, intended to help you to reflect on your life. We must first be aware of our emotions, accept them and deal with them for positive results in our growth and that of others to make our world a more beautiful place.
We are going to reflect on 7 common emotions for each day of the week. They are Happiness, Fear, Anger, Disgust, Sadness, Surprise, and Compassion.
